Therapy For ADHD

In Northport, NY

Living with ADHD as an adult can feel like constantly trying to catch up. You may struggle to stay organized, finish what you start, or manage time effectively. Many adults describe feeling scattered, frustrated, or misunderstood. ADHD is not related to your character or a lack of effort, instead it is a difference in how the brain processes information, focus and emotion. With the right tools and insight into how ADHD impacts your life, you can learn to work with your brain, not against it.

ADHD Therapy Focused on Skills, Structure & Support

My approach to therapy for ADHD is practical, supportive and evidence- based. I integrate Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for improving focus, reducing self- criticism and reshaping helpful patterns and executive function coaching to strengthen organization, planning and follow- through. Additionally, I find mindfulness and emotion regulation skills to be helpful in aiding individuals with ADHD to manage frustration and reactivity. Finally, ADHD- informed lifestyle strategies are helpful in creating a life structure that supports you as an individual and avoids overwhelm and burnout.

Many adults with ADHD also experience anxiety and perfectionism. We can work to break that cycle by learning to manage anxiety, set realistic goals and focus on your strengths.
