I’m Dr. Kerry Haddock, licensed psychologist and owner of Harborside Psychology in Northport, NY.
From an early age, I have been fascinated by the way people think and feel. I am often the person friends or family call when they need to vent or seek support. Becoming a psychologist allowed me to turn my passion for supporting others into a career.
I completed my Master’s and Doctoral degrees at Hofstra University. My graduate training consisted of years of clinical experiences in school, private practice and hospital settings. As a graduate student, I sought out additional opportunities and training to support my growth as a clinician. I have always had an interest in the field of psycho-oncology, something that was sparked by my experiences volunteering at hospitals throughout high school and college. I completed a predoctoral internship in pediatric oncology at NYU Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids. The internship and my personal chronic health conditions have contributed to my interest in the emotional aspects of chronic illness.
After completing my doctorate, I worked as a school psychologist at a junior/ senior high school. I also worked at a group private practice providing therapy and completing psychological evaluations. I started my private practice in the fall of 2023. I feel that starting my practice was one of the best decisions I have ever made!
My therapeutic style is warm, calm and flexible. While I often utilize behavioral therapy techniques, I aim to meet clients with curiosity and tailor therapy to specific needs. I feel the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important and influential aspects of therapy. If we work together, I will take our relationship and rapport very seriously. I welcome feedback and openness and inform clients to expect the same from me.
When I am not working, you will find me reading, working out in barre classes, gardening or walking around Northport with my family and our sweet mini poodle.
