Therapy for Teens in Northport NY

At Harborside Psychology, I provide compassionate and evidence-based therapy to help teens navigate the challenges of adolescence. Adolescence can be a time of incredible growth but also intense pressure. Between school demands, social challenges, sports, family expectations, and the online world, today’s teens face more stress than ever.

If your child is struggling with anxiety, social anxiety, executive functioning difficulties, depression or other emotional difficulties, individual therapy provides a safe space for your child to gain awareness and learn coping skills. Together, we work to identify thoughts and behaviors and create small goals. Sessions are tailored for individual needs, using research validated techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also integrate practical strategies for focus, organization and emotional regulation, which can be especially useful for clients managing ADHD or chronic illness.

A Supportive, Teen- Centered Approach

Your teen will find a space that is compassionate, structured and empowering. I work collaboratively with parents, school staff and other allied professionals to support the teen. I understand that every teen is different- some open up easily, others need time to build trust. I adapt my approach to the individual and attempt to make therapy feel empowering, not intimidating.
